Outreach Efforts

The EGS believes in creating opportunities for young girls to explore an interest in technology and game design, and has worked on two initiatives in support of this endeavor:

TechGirlz

TechGirlz LogoArianna Gass has led the EGS in creating workshops for girls interested in game design with a grant from the Entertainment Software Association Foundation.  Partnered with TechGirlz, a nonprofit organization working to increase girls' interest in technological occupations, the workshop is a hands-on experience in using game design technologies and programming languages.

Girl Scouts

Girl Scouts LogoThe EGS has worked with the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania to develop a new program to interest girls in computer science through video game design.  Girls earn the patch by attending workshops held on the Drexel campus. The EGS is continuing this partnership and working to expand the offerings to girls.
